EPA has recently lowered the annual PM2.5 NAAQS from 12 to 9 micrograms per cubic meter, effective May 6, 2024. Several air quality monitors throughout the state, including Maricopa, Pinal, and Santa Cruz Counties, are currently reporting concentrations in excess of the standard. Come hear from Arizona DEQ and Maricopa County AQD presenters on how this new standard will impact the state, including implications for permitting projects and potential new nonattainment areas.
